Langa underwent undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town, during which time he was awarded a scholarship to study at Gent University in Belgium for a short while. He completed his internship and community service at Frere hospital in East London. He spent a short stint working in the surgery departments at Port Shepstone Regional Hospital, where he met his future wife Mary Jane, an Occupational Therapist, and Wexford General Hospital in Ireland.
He enrolled in the basic surgical training program in Ireland, obtaining the CCBST. He was concurrently awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland following a series of examinations.
He then returned to Cape Town, where he underwent surgical registrar training. During his tenure as a registrar, he was appointed Chief Resident, a role he served with great enthusiasm. He was also appointed as Vice President of South African Surgeons-in-Training. He worked at the New Somerset Hospital as a consultant for a few years, after which he joined the practice.
Over the years, Langa has served on executive Boards including Think Twice, HIGSA and ELDOC.
Langa has a wide variety of special interests, which include hernia surgery, Laparoscopy, Endoscopy, breast and endocrine and vascular access surgery.
In his spare time, Langa enjoys spending time with his family, off-road cycling and travelling.
