Neil is the longest-serving partner in the group, having more than 25 years of experience providing to the general surgical needs of East London and the greater surroundings.

He has enjoyed a purposeful journey filled with wonderful learning opportunities afforded to him through a series of teachers and mentors whom he met during his education. After matriculating at Grey College Bloemfontein, he completed his undergraduate training at the University of the Free State, where he obtained his medical degree with distinction as well as obtaining the Medal for being the top student in Surgery. He underwent further studies at the University of Cape Town, where he specialised in Surgery.

Neil is a key member of the multidisciplinary team meetings where his experience shines through, and his teaching is appreciated by all his colleagues. He remains keenly interested in learning and enjoys interactions with various medical forums in East London from whom he continues to acquire knowledge. 

In 2016 he was the recipient of the South African Medical Association Merit award for his excellent service in the private sector. The requirements of this award are a doctor who has made an impact in his community and who shows compassion and empathy towards patients.

He is happily married to Maryke, and they have four children that provide much joy in their lives. He has relished watching his family grow by means of wonderful spouses and grandchildren.

Neil is always keen on a nature ramble and the chance to spot a bird or a cloud in the company of family or like-minded friends.
