Pierre Mouton

Pierre was born in Paarl and matriculated from Huguenot High school in Wellington in 2003, where he achieved Springbok colours for track cycling.

While studying medicine at Stellenbosch University, he would work alongside his wife, Jomien, at De Grendel wine estate, where he hosted wine tastings on weekends. He achieved Cum laude in his final year of medicine in 2010.

Pierre completed his internship in Somerset Hospital in Cape Town, where he nurtured a special interest in Surgery. After his Community Service, he started his surgical career in Worcester Hospital in 2014 and went on to specialize in General Surgery at Tygerberg Hospital, where he became a fellow of the College of Surgeons and was awarded his MMed in Surgery.

Pierre has special interests in hernia surgery, abdominal surgery, endoscopy and breast and endocrine surgery.

He spends his spare time with his wife and four children, Mignon, Jano, Luka and their Ridgeback, Lea. He enjoys braai-ing and mountain bike rides on any of the many trails available around East London.

He is a hard-working and compassionate surgeon who prioritizes patient care. He is much loved by patients and colleagues alike for his kind demeanour.
